The body knows.

Trauma-informed, body-based therapy for creative adults in Brooklyn and New York. For those who have done the talking, and are ready to go deeper.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy • Dance Movement Therapy · Somatic Work · Nervous System Regulation

You have done the work. Something still hasn't moved.

You understand your patterns. You can trace them back. You have language for what happened, and why. And yet — in the body, in the nervous system, in the way you freeze or brace or disappear in moments that matter — something older is still running.

This is not a failure of insight. It is an invitation to go somewhere insight alone cannot reach.
  • You hold yourself together with precision, and feel the cost of that in your body
  • Certain relationships, patterns, or responses keep returning. Even when you know better.
  • You are accomplished, perceptive, deeply feeling. And underneath it, quietly exhausted.
  • You want to feel at home in your body, not managed by it
  • You have worked with other therapists, read the books. You are ready for something that actually lands
If any of this resonates, you have found the right place.

This is different.

Most therapy works at the level of narrative. We work at the level of the nervous system. Where trauma actually lives, and where it can actually complete.

Together, we slow down enough to listen to what your body has been holding. We attend to sensation, impulse, rhythm, and stillness. What begins to move are not just your ideas about yourself, but the patterns encoded beneath them.

Clients describe leaving sessions feeling lighter, clearer, more themselves. Not because anything was fixed. Because something that had been held for a long time was finally allowed to release.

What becomes possible:

A nervous system that can settle. Genuinely, not just managed.

Presence in the body that feels like home, not like surveillance

Relationships where you stop performing and start actually arriving

Creative work that comes from a grounded, integrated self

The sensation of knowing what you want. And trusting it.

Completion of old survival cycles that no longer serve you

The work

Four ways we can work together

Dance Movement Therapy

Movement as a portal. Not performance. Pure authentic expression. For those who need to go somewhere the words have not been.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

Hands-on bodywork that listens. A precise, deeply restoring approach that works with the body's own rhythms to release and integrate.

Somatic Therapy

Sensation-based, body-forward work. We follow what the nervous system is communicating. Not just what the mind understands.

Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy

Talk, depth, and relational presence. For when you need someone who can hold the full weight of your history, and knows exactly where to go from there.

about

Hi, I'm Deniz.

I work at the intersection of the body, the nervous system, and the creative self. My clients are often people who are deeply intelligent, highly accomplished, and quietly carrying something that no amount of understanding has been able to touch.

I trained as a dancer before I trained as a therapist. I spent sixteen years in hospital psychiatry before building a private practice rooted in what I have always known: that the body holds what the mind alone cannot reach, and that it also knows exactly how to heal.

My work is precise. It is unhurried. It is not about insight as a destination, but about integration as a way of being.

How It Works

1
A 15-minute consultation to sense the fit, ask your questions, and see what wants to unfold
2
Weekly or fortnightly sessions, in person in Williamsburg or virtually throughout New York
3
A process that moves at the pace of your system. Not a protocol, not a program. Something more alive than that.

You do not need to arrive ready.

You only need to arrive.
